A gentler way to cut down nicotine

Less planning. More living.

Solace is being designed to take the guesswork out of cutting down. A connected nicotine delivery device records use in the background, and our algorithm aims to optimise the timing of a personalised use schedule. Following the schedule is intended to reduce cravings and withdrawal while you gradually use less nicotine.

How Solace is intended to work

A use schedule designed around you.

Cutting down can mean constantly deciding when to use nicotine and worrying about the next craving. Solace aims to build and adjust a use schedule that helps you reduce gradually while minimising cravings and withdrawal.

01

Use as you normally would

The proposed nicotine delivery device records use events automatically, building a picture of your routine without requiring you to log each one.

02

Build a use schedule

An algorithm is being designed to learn your pattern, anticipate discomfort, and suggest planned nicotine use windows as you cut down.

03

Follow your plan, with backup

The schedule is intended to limit cravings and withdrawal. If a craving still breaks through, the toolbox offers simple ways to get through that moment.

The connected device

Useful data, without more homework.

We envision a nicotine administration device that captures when it is used and sends that information to Solace. That passive record could help the algorithm propose and adapt a nicotine use schedule without asking you to remember and enter every dose.

The aim is for a schedule you can follow to reduce use with less craving, withdrawal, and day-to-day decision making. The craving toolbox is there when the schedule is not enough.

Device design, prediction accuracy, safety, and appropriate use will need to be developed and evaluated before this can be offered.

Where we are now

We’re building and testing the idea.

Solace is an early-stage concept, not a currently available cessation treatment or validated prediction system. We want to develop the device and test whether following its proposed use schedule actually reduces cravings, withdrawal, and the effort of cutting down. We will learn from people who use nicotine and the clinicians who support them.
